This insurance provides cover to both private and commercial vehicles. Private vehicles are those which are solely used for social, domestic and pleasure purposes and for own business and profession whilst commercial vehicles are those carrying own goods, goods for hire and reward or passengers.
Categories of Motor Insurance
The various scopes of cover available are as follows:
- ACT only (Transit Cover) This is a compulsory insurance cover as enshrined in the Roads and Road Traffic Act section 133. This insurance covers compensation for third-party injury or death arising from the use of a motor vehicle on public Roads.
- Full Third-Party coverwill pay third-party injury, death and for property damage. This means in addition to the ACT only, cover extends to third party property damage.
- Third-Party Fire and Theft cover; in addition to the third-party cover, this policy will provide financial compensation if your vehicle is destroyed by fire or stolen.
- Full Comprehensive cover:This covers all of the above, but also includes damage to the owner’s vehicle.
